Sentenced to life for crimes committed as teenagers, a group of inmates in Missouri’s death row prison teach themselves to code without access to the internet. When their tenacious leader, Jess, is released on parole, the group resolves to use their coding skills to upend an exploitative for-profit education system, and thus profoundly reimagine the future of prison life.
