SUWO is the tale of two women-a wrestler and a mayor-fighting, inside and outside of the sacred sumo ring, tomake history.Campaigning for inclusion they attempt to revoke theancient ban thatforbids women from their national sport.Amidst international headlines screaming for equality amovement is born. Japan reacts to #MeToo scandals athome and abroad. In a culture of discrimination andsuppression, the pair push forward against a tide ofdisapproval.They take on one of the world’s oldest associations andJapan’s most powerful institution.
