After losing everything, former stripper Desiree Wood takes a second lease on life as a long-haul truck driver. Alongside an irreverent group of women drivers she fights for a life on the road.

While separated by miles of highway, the lines of communication between Desiree and her friends remain open as they track each other over their headsets in real-time. Determined to leave behind the violence of their pasts, they are bound together by their love of life on the road and a desire for a world apart from men. Despite the independence that they find in the cab of the truck, the dangers of driving and the threat of sexual assault are ever-present.

Desiree is constantly trying to balance her ambitions as a leader with the all-consuming reality of being a driver. As the proud new owner of her own rig, her truck is constantly at risk of being taken from her.

In a rapidly disappearing American labor landscape, Desiree and her fellow drivers rally against the crushing forces of an industry that is indifferent to their survival. Being part of this sisterhood means everything to Desiree—having found her place in the world, she is determined to keep it.
