DREAM STATE is the tale of two war refugees who came to the U.S. to rebuild their lives, and 40 years later are passionately pursuing their creative dreams in a community of middleaged Chinese immigrants in suburban Los Angeles. This hybrid documentary explores the complexity of the immigration narrative and identity through a combination of staged dance sequences and observational storytelling.
