A feature documentary following young US veterans, injured in Iraq, as they take their first steps out of military care. Given a brief discharge from hospital, 12 severely injured American soldiers join a white water rafting trip down the Grand Canyon.

Visually stunning, this is a powerful and purposefully apolitical film. Each soldier tells a compelling story, revealing how warfare and its survivors has changed over the years, the reality of the war in Iraq and the uncertainties they now face back in the U.S.
